Self Portrait

I wanted to do a fantasy-themed self portrait for quite some time, but haven’t had the chance to until recently. I opted for a fantasy theme with this one mainly because I felt it would make for some interesting imagery. I wanted to emulate the look of those early classical paintings, so I applied what I have learned from doing the Master Copy studies a while back into this painting. I feel like a have a stronger piece of work as a result of those studies.

This is amazing!
I've been following your stuff ever since I found your tutorial on digitalartsonline for creating realistic skintones.

So, so good man,
Keep it up.
I can only hope my skills will one day hit up on your level.

Hey dear! Didn't see where I could reply so I thought to do it here. =)Thanks a lot for the kind words, I really appreciate the feedback, especially after not publishing anything for over 1,5 year :P

I've been lurking to your blog actually btw., and your work has improved SO much, i'm stunned! That's some fast progress! The use of colour, shading, design... Dancing with the Devil is one of those compositions that makes you think "well ****, why haven't I thought of that?!" :))

Hi Marta, it's always great to hear from you. I was just watching your videos actually, and I'm in awe. You have also improved so much (and you were already great to begin with), now your level is just ridiculously high, it's very inspiring. I'm still in awe of your 'Judas' piece, the detailing is just ridiculous. Congrats!
